When the casual fan thinks of sport globally that really rakes in the cash for its athletes, fans could likely turn to a number of professional vocations.
Darts is probably, however, not one of them.
But that is not to say the winnings are not there in a sport which continues to rise not only in popularity, but also in prize money.
So in terms of darts all-time rich list, how do the big names rank for total earnings? Well, thanks to BettingDarts.com, we have an answer!
10. Dave Chisnall (£2,043,415)
Perhaps surprisingly, propping up the list at number 10, Dave Chisnall has now amassed in excess of £2 million earnings as a regular fixture in the PDC's top 20 rankings.
A former BDO World Championship runner-up in 2010, "Chizzy" is now considered something of a veteran at 41, but his career kitty is still not to be sniffed at.
9. Simon Whitlock (£2,229,499)
In at nine is Simon "The Wizard" Whitlock, with his biggest win to date coming at the 2012 European Championships in Germany.
Still going strong in his 50s, the New South Wales thrower was beaten by Phil Taylor in the 2010 PDC World final.
8. Gerwyn Price (£2,292,803)

Having earned around 70k more than the Australian, Gerwyn Price slots in next, however, given another 24 months, the Welshman's position in this countdown will be significantly higher.
Winner of the Grand Slam of Darts in 2018 and 2019, "The Iceman" did indeed cometh at Ally Pally two years later, beating Gary Anderson 7-3 to become world champion.
More riches are surely set to fall upon Price.
7. Adrian Lewis (£3,187,643)
As the rich list jumps into £3 million territory, Adrian Lewis has very much hit the "Jackpot" during his career on the oche.
A two-time world champion, the 37-year-old from the Potteries also has a 2013 European crown and a 2014 UK Open win to his name.
Though the past four years have largely been dogged by on-stage altercations and shock defeats, Lewis' winnings still amount to more than a pretty penny.
6. Raymond van Barneveld (£3,510,128)

One of the biggest draws in darts since its meteoric rise in popularity during the late 90s and into the new millennium, "Barney" has been a hit in both the BDO and latterly the PDC.
With five world titles to his name, the Dutchman won four Lakeside crowns and in 2007, beat Phil Taylor in one of the all-time classic PDC finals at the Circus Tavern, winning in sudden death, 7-6.
After an emotional defeat in this past year's visit to Ally Pally, the 54-year-old may have seen his best days now pass, but his legacy in the sport is as big as his bank balance.
5. James Wade (£3,578,893)
Perhaps one of the sport's most underrated players, James Wade's position at number five may come as something of a surprise as one of only three players in the top 10 without a world title.
With that said however, the Hampshire man has been a consistent presence in the big events in both the BDO and PDC throughout his time at the top and his semi-final defeat to Michael Smith back in January was his fourth last-four berth in the PDC's showpiece event.
As a winner of the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix in 2007, Wade has won the UK Open on three occasions also.

Despite his well-publicised battles with mental health issues, Wade's return to the top of his game of late has been as big a victory as his career earnings in excess of £3.5m, will attest.
4. Peter Wright (£3,609,888)
Ever the showman, Peter "Snakebite" Wright has become renowned for his colourful performances on stage, and his famous ever-changing mohican style.
A former tyre-fitter born in Livingston but who has resided in London and Suffolk for most of his life, Wright took home his second PDC world crown at the beginning of the year.
As a former Players' Champion, a Masters winner, European Champion, UK Open and World Matchplay winner also, the Scot's winnings have piled up and will likely rise further still.
3. Gary Anderson (£4,358772)
As we jump into the top three, another Scot who has become a huge box-office draw during his now 20-plus year career, Gary Anderson has eight major PDC titles to his name.
Defending champion at Ally Pally in 2015 and 2016, "The Flying Scotsman" has accrued some serious cash from his two Premier League wins in 2011 and 2015, as well as taking the Champions League in 2018.

Winner of 31 Pro-Tour PDC events, the 51-year-old sits third on the all-time list of wins and now revitalised, Anderson could yet add to that handsome tally.
2. Phil Taylor (£7,634,754)
Only coming in runner-up in the money list largely due to the later influx of prize money in darts, Phil Taylor needs no introduction. "The Power" has won it all.
Taking his first BDO world title way back in 1990, Taylor has won a staggering 14 PDC world titles and six Premier League crowns.
Surely the finest player ever to pick up a set of darts, Taylor's winnings may be close to £1m less than the top-earner, but only Robbie Williams is a bigger household name in Stoke.
Having finally hung up his flights in 2018, the man recognised by the BBC as one of the 10 greatest British sportsmen of the past 35 years, Taylor has a fairly decent nest-egg to sit on for the rest of his days.
1. Michael van Gerwen (£8,571,167)

Coming in at number one, Michael van Gerwen's career money haul is indeed "Mighty" even if the 32-year-old from Boxtel in the Netherlands may never usurp Taylor as the game's greatest ever player.
But take nothing away from MVG, the Dutchman has been the dominant force in darts since 2013.
A three-time world champion, Van Gerwen won the Masters for five years on the spin between 2015 and 2019, whilst holding the European title for four years consecutively between 2015 and 2018.
Winning the Premier League five times between 2013 and 2019 also, The Green Machine has been printing money with his darts for the best part of the last decade.
Still at a relatively fledgling point in his career, Van Gerwen will surely not be caught in this particular list and could go on to break the magic £10m mark.
