Joanna Jedrzejczyk is a former UFC Champion, but what could her next fight potentially be inside the octagon?

Jedrzejczyk last fought in the UFC as part of the UFC 248 Adesanya vs Romero card on Saturday March 7th 2020 against Weili Zhang.

Following that five-round war with Zhang, MMA fans have been wondering when the Strawweight fighter will get back inside the cage.

Here’s everything you need to know about Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s potential next fight in the UFC and who it may be against.

Speaking to the Fighter vs Writer podcast, Jedrzejczyk revealed that she does intend on getting back inside the octagon at some point.

She said: “I’m personal with so many hobbies, passions, businesses. I wanted to make sure everything was going in the right direction. Now I have a clear head, a strong heart, and I can be focusing only on training.”

“It’s hard because so many people are like, ‘Maybe you should stop fighting, you shouldn’t even be doing this. You do this, you do that, you have this business, the other business,’ but you can’t stop the love. Love is real and it’s the only real thing in this world.”

It is not confirmed when Jedrzejczyk will be making her way back to the octagon, but there are three fights that could potentially make sense for her.

The American Top Team trained fighter could feasibly get a massive rematch against Zhang, as the UFC 248 bout is considered among the all-time greats in the sport.

Another potential fight for Jedrzejczyk is against Rose Namajunas, as despite the fact that Jedrzejczyk is no longer in the top 15 of the Strawweight division due to inactivity, a fight against the division Champion could be a decent draw at the box office.

If the UFC decides that Jedrzejczyk needs to ‘earn’ her way back to the top of the Strawweight mountain, then a fight against Carla Esparza (who as of writing on Wednesday 9th March 2022 is ranked #2) could be on the cards.

Whoever Jedrzejczyk fights next, it could certainly be a big deal for the Women’s Strawweight division in the UFC and headline a Fight Night or PPV card.
