Paris Saint-Germain were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid on Wednesday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino's side led 2-0 with 30 minutes remaining of the tie, but an incredible late collapse saw them dumped out of the competition.

Despite their defeat, Kylian Mbappe was absolutely brilliant on the evening.

He notched the opener in the first half after finishing off a lightning-quick counter-attack.

He also had two goals disallowed in the game; one in either half.

Mbappe's second disallowed goal, which came in the 54th minute, was sublime.

The French speedster was sent through clear on goal by Neymar.

He proceeded to sit Thibaut Courtois down with an outrageous dummy before finishing into an empty net.

The goal was, of course, correctly disallowed. But that doesn't take away from the fact that it was an outrageous finish from the 23-year-old superstar.

In the build-up to the game, Mbappe admitted that Ronaldo Nazario inspires him.

"As a Frenchman, you can say Thierry Henry. [That's] normal. But Ronaldo Nazario too," he replied when asked to name which players his style of play is inspired by, per the Daily Mail.

"This type of player who plays with the ball, [who] is connected with the game, but can also play without the ball and create some movement without it.

"This is the type of complete player I want to be, so I work every day to be as good as them, but it is difficult."

Ronaldo was known for rounding the goalkeeper and Mbappe certainly showed shades of the Brazilian legend with his disallowed goal.

Mbappe was brilliant throughout and did not deserve to come away on the losing side.

With his contract at PSG set to expire this summer, a move to Real Madrid in a few months' time is becoming increasingly likely.
