Robert Roode’s recent dalliance on NXT 2.0 has seen him set an historic wrestling first. The big story to come from NXT’s recent makeover into NXT 2.0 has been the emergence of Bron Breakker. The son of tag team legend Rick Steiner has had a meteoric rise up the card on Tuesday nights, culminating in his NXT Championship win just months after his debut on the brand. This past week however, Breakker shockingly lost his championship to Robert Roode’s tag team partner Dolph Ziggler, in a story that has seen the Dirty Dawgs lock horns with Breakker and Tomasso Ciampa across both NXT and Monday Night Raw.

In competing in these tag team bouts, Roode set a unique and historic wrestling first. The 45-year-old become the first man to wrestle both Rick Steiner and son Bron Breakker. Having teamed with James Storm to face The Steiner Brothers in December 2009.

Roode had a helping hand in Ziggler’s win at NXT: Roadblock this past Tuesday night. Pulling Breakker out of the ring in the closing moments to allow his Dirty Dawg partner to hit a superkick on Ciampa and win the NXT Championship for the first time.

The Showoff is now expected to defend his title at NXT: Stand and Deliver over WrestleMania weekend, most likely against Breakker in a match where you can expect Roode to heavily be involved with.
