Odsonne Edouard still has a future at Crystal Palace having already proven himself as an asset in the Premier League, according to journalist Tom Barclay.

The striker initially made a fine start to his Eagles career following his move from Celtic, but he's been continuously overlooked of late.

What's the latest news involving Edouard?

Having scored twice in quick time against Tottenham on his top-flight debut before netting at Arsenal a few games later, Edouard looked like being a snip at for Palace at £14m.

But Edouard would find the net just three times in his next 17 appearances, which has led to him dropping out of the side in recent weeks.

He's played just one minute across Palace's last five games in all competitions, while his last start came around a month ago at Brentford.

Despite his recent drop off in form, only Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher (8) have scored more goals than the Frenchman.

Therefore, Barclay doesn't believe that Edouard's Selhurst Park career might be drawing to a close, even though he's currently down Patrick Vieira's pecking order.

What did Barclay say about Edouard?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "They invested heavily in him in the summer, Vieira pushed for him. At this stage I can't think his time is up. He's already proven that he can be an asset and can score goals in the Premier League."

How can Edouard win his place back?

At present, Edouard has an extremely tough task on his hands.

Firstly, Vieira's decision to leave him on the bench is paying off, with Palace collecting seven points from their last three Premier League games, while they're also in the quarter finals of the FA Cup following their recent victory over Stoke.

But the man who's essentially playing ahead of him, Jean-Philippe Mateta, has scored twice in three matches and is more than justifying his place in Vieira's side.

Therefore, all Edouard can do is try and catch Vieira's eye on the training pitch, and if he gets any sort of chance to impress from the bench in the coming games, then do everything in his power to do exactly that.

If that doesn't become the case before the end of the season, then Edouard could start to have doubts over his future at the club.
