Worst snooker shot? Ding Junhui suffers 'calamity' at Turkish Masters

Ding Junhui put his hand up for one of the worst snooker misses you could ever hope to see at the Turkish Masters on Thursday.

The Chinese star had a moment to forget during his clash with Englishman Kyren Wilson when going for what should’ve been a simple shot.

The Chinese professional snooker player had a sequence of errors which led to him venting out his frustration on a terrible shot.

The 34-year-old unfortunately did not put enough power on his shot to hit the brown, even though they were millimetres away from each other.

This embarrassing miss might make you reminisce of the Gary Wilson pot at the World Snooker Championship last year.

Wilson lined up the brown and was completely off target, potting the white. But at least the Englishman walked off and kept his cool, unlike Junhui.

The most successful Asian snooker player in its history showed that he has his moments, which even shocked the commentator.

“Oh my goodness me, that is calamitous for Ding.”

When the quickly taken frustrated shot was not on camera, it was replayed in which the commentator said in a humoured manner:

“Well, it’s been a strange old frame this one hasn’t it. Once again, the colour is awkward, the reds awkward”

After watching the missed shot:

“Unusual, think a bit of frustration in the shot he played there.”

However, the currently ranked 32 in the world beat Wilson 5-3, leading him to play against fellow countryman Si Jiahui on March 11.

The formerly ranked number one in the world will always be respected by the snooker fandom for being the first player outside of Great Britain and Ireland to win the UK Championship, amongst other things.

But the miss by Junhui will be remembered for a long time as an incredible snooker moment, as the brown was nearly impossible to miss.
