WWE plan to book Gable Steveson in the same vein as one of their biggest ever stars, Brock Lesnar.

Steveson signed with WWE in September 2001, fresh off winning Olympic Gold in freestyle wrestling at the Tokyo games. The 21-year-old was then drafted to Raw in the 2021 WWE Draft in October, but is yet to make his in-ring debut for the company.

However, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE plans to push Steveson as ‘another Brock Lesnar’ with a profile similar to Lesnar’s initial run with the company in 2002.

Gable Steveson will also be fast-tracked to the main roster. The idea is for him to be another Brock Lesnar.

Like Steveson, Lesnar was also tasted success at NCAA amateur wrestling before arriving in WWE, but with Gable already having made a name for himself they see huge potential for him as a WWE Superstar. With reports earlier this week that he and Bron Breakker are seen as future WrestleMania headliners for the company.

Last month Steveson revealed he’d been training at the WWE Performance Center, with the intention of making an appearance at WrestleMania. However, there has been no talk thus far of him playing any part in the festivities across WrestleMania weekend.

Steveson is part of WWE’s new ‘Next in Line’ NIL program, allowing WWE to recruit and develop future performers through collaborative partnerships with college athletes.
