Stone Cold Steve Austin has upped his training ahead of his WrestleMania appearance next month opposing Kevin Owens

The WWE Hall of Famer answered Kevin Owens invitation to appear on The KO Show this past week. Taking to social media to tell Owens that he can call their showdown ‘a match, a fight’ or a brawl’, with WWE still advertising the segment as a ‘confrontation’ rather than anything more than that.

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, Austin is readying himself for an altercation of some sort with Owens.

What we do know is that Austin has been upping his cardio, so the plan is for a fight scene, and not just a quick stunner.

WWE had wanted Austin for an official match with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania, in what would be The Rattlesnake’s first match since his defeat to The Rock at WrestleMania XIX in 2003. However, with Austin referencing that milestone and with the news of his training regime being increased, WWE fans may get more than just an episode of The KO Show in Dallas.

With news of Austin opening the door for something more physical at WrestleMania, WWE are hoping to fine tune the card for the event in the coming weeks. With a clearer vision of Vince McMahon’s role in the Austin Theory v Pat McAfee bout and the possibility of Cody Rhodes return to take on Seth Rollins at the event next month.
