Big E injury: WWE Superstar breaks neck on SmackDown

Former WWE World Champion Big E was rushed to hospital last night after suffering a broken neck during his match on SmackDown.

Big E had teamed up with Kofi Kingston to face Sheamus and Ridge Holland as the pair had recently been feuding with The New Day, but the match seemingly had to be cut short due to the serious nature of the injury to E.

The match had to be stopped when Ridge Holland hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Big E outside the ring, which saw E land awkwardly on the top of his head.

A whole 129kg coming down on his neck resulted in the Superstar having to be stretchered away and out of the arena almost immediately after the incident happened.

The clips below show the freak accident that happened, but we must warn you, it does make for harsh viewing, so viewer’s discretion is advised!

Here is another clip of Big E getting stretchered away.

The match was then ended quickly when Kingston took a pinfall from Sheamus, which saw him and Ridge Holland win the tag-team match.

Big E’s WrestleMania 38 status is now in serious doubt as his health is all that matters, but after suffering such a serious injury, it’s highly unlikely he’ll feature now.

With neck injuries, WWE simply have to be cautious and be 100% sure that the Superstar is fit and ready to go upon returning.

Let’s hope Big E makes a speedy recovery.
