Christian Eriksen reminded the footballing world that class is indeed permanent on Saturday afternoon.

In the final 10 minutes of Brentford's crucial home match against Burnley, the Danish midfielder conjured up some magic to help break the deadlock.

Brentford's new creator-in-chief picked up the ball near the edge of the box after beating a man, looked up and picked out Ivan Toney with the most perfect of crosses.

What made the pass even better is the fact that it came from Eriksen's left foot, which is supposedly his 'weaker side'.

Take a look at the marvellous assist, which came 818 days after his last in Premier League action, here...

Unreal from Eriksen - and ambidexterity of the highest order!

Toney simply couldn't miss and shortly after profiting from Eriksen's magnificent pass, the English striker made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.

The former Newcastle man has now scored five goals in the last two games and that's helped move Brentford up to 15th in the table and well clear of the relegation zone.

But while Toney's goals have been vital, there's no denying that Eriksen has been the main catalyst for improvement at the club.

Thomas Frank's side have looked a different beast since he made his miraculous comeback and it's just a joy watching him do what he does best after everything he's been through.

Eriksen played the full 90 minutes against Burnley in Saturday, the second time he's done that in the space of a week after his masterclass away at Norwich City last weekend.

Yeah, the 30-year-old is well and truly back in business and Brentford are certainly going to be tough customers in the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign as a result.

The Bees' next Premier League match sees them take on Leicester City away from home and after the international break, they travel to Chelsea.
