The original plans that WWE had for New Day at WrestleMania 38, prior to Big E breaking his neck, have been revealed. For those that haven't seen, Big E unfortunately broke his neck on last night's episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The injury was sustained after Big E fell directly onto his head after being suplexed by Ridge Holland on the outside of the ring.Thankfully, the former WWE Champion has said that he doesn't need surgery, which was about as positive of an update as we could hope for all things considered.

While he recovers from the injury, Big E is going to miss WrestleMania 38 in Texas, but the plans that WWE had for him at the show have been revealed.

Fightful Select is reporting that Big E was set to team with his New Day stablemates, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, at the big event.

The trio were set to take on Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch (formerly Pete Dunne) on the show, before Big E suffered his injury.

There were plans for Butch, Ridge Holland and Sheamus to take on New Day at WrestleMania. However, with Big E's injury on Smackdown, we can't be sure that's still the case.

Of course, as noted earlier, these plans are almost certainly now off now that Big E has broken his neck and will miss the show.

It's possible that WWE is going to add another member to New Day for the night to keep the match as a three-way match.

However, WWE could also just remove one member of the Butch, Sheamus and Ridge Holland group to have the match as a straight tag team match.
