Leeds United's future ownership model will become clearer by the turn of the year, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Andrea Radrizzani’s purchased a 50 per cent share of the Yorkshire giants in January 2017 and bought out co-owner Massimo Cellino later that year, but it appears his reign is nearing its end.

What's the latest news involving Leeds' ownership?

Shortly before the turn of the year, The Athletic revealed that 49ers Enterprises have a deal in place to buy Leeds for in excess of £400million.

The report suggests the Elland Road outfit will be under new ownership within the next two years as the NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers' investment arm are set to gain 100 per cent control of the Premier League club by January 2024.

Finance guru Kieran Maguire has claimed it is 'inevitable' that Radrizzani will eventually be unable to finance Leeds and, as a result, look to sell his stake.

He currently owns 56 per cent of the Whites' assets after 49ers Enterprises increased their number of shares to 44 per cent following negotiations last November.

Leeds’ link-up with the United States-based group emerged when 49ers Enterprises became minority shareholders in May 2018.

Paraag Marathe, the group's president, was then installed as the Whites' vice-chairman after their stake shot up to 37 per cent last year.

What has Dean Jones said about the situation?

Jones believes 49ers Enterprises' intentions and influence will become clearer before we head into 2023.

The transfer insider understands the upcoming developments will paint a clearer picture as to what the future holds for Leeds and Radrizzani.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "I was told to expect updates towards the back end of this year on where Leeds were heading in terms of ownership and investment."

Is 49ers Enterprises' influence already being felt?

Jesse Marsch was appointed as Leeds' new head coach at the end of last month, with the American heading to Elland Road just 24 hours after Marcelo Bielsa had been sacked.

Marsch admitted to meeting leading members of 49ers Enterprises before succeeding Bielsa but insisted ‘that’s not the main reason I’m here’ and ‘to say there’s an Americanisation of this club would be inaccurate’.

In fact, director of football Victor Orta has revealed Marsch has been on the Whites’ radar for a prolonged period of time and the club hierarchy 'believe his philosophy and style of football aligns with that of the club and will suit the players very well'.
