UFC president Dana White has said he believes Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight boxer on the planet.

The current generation of boxing heavyweights is stacked with high profile names. Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte, Andy Ruiz Jr and, of course, Tyson Fury, serve as some of the most exciting fighters we’ve seen in the division for years.

Fury, in particular, is widely considered to be the best of the best. ‘The Gypsy King’ holds a 31-0-1 record with his last two victories coming by way of stoppage over the aforementioned Wilder.

He now holds the WBC and The Ring titles and on April 23, he’ll defend them against Dillian Whyte in front of a sold out crowd at Wembley.

The popularity of Fury has gone through the roof since his comeback and between the UK and US, he may well be the most popular boxer in the game alongside Canelo Alvarez.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Dana White weighed in on the debate and sang the praises of the Brit.

"He's able to sell out Wembley because he has shown he is the best," White said. “This is what happens when the best fight the best."

"He's the best. In the Wilder fights when he took those shots, got back up, won the fight, knocked him out. He's the best. There's no denying that he's the best in the world and he's finally getting the respect and credit that he's due. I'm happy for him because he's a good dude.

"In boxing, the best have to fight the best. When you get all the best guys in the world fighting each other, people want to see it. I truly believe that Tyson Fury is one of those guys who is willing to fight everybody."

Dana White hits the capital

White is currently preparing to make the trek over to the UK for this weekend’s UFC London event at the O2 Arena.

The show marks the first time the UFC has returned to Europe since the start of the pandemic with Tom Aspinall, a former sparring partner of Tyson Fury, headlining the card alongside Alexander Volkov.
