UFC president Dana White has questioned YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul for calling out Conor McGregor.

While Jake Paul has been happy to go after just about every fighter under the sun, there’s always been one name he’s focused on more than the rest - Conor McGregor. The ideal fight for ‘The Problem Child’, it appears, is a showdown with the Irishman. Right now that seems unlikely but in a business like combat sports, ‘never say never’ is always a justifiable approach.

Someone who has been vocally against the constant mention of Jake Paul is Dana White. The president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship wants to focus on putting on the best fights within his own organisation but instead, he’s being hit with questions about the former Disney Channel star at every turn.

It’s a trend that’s unlikely to end anytime soon and during his visit to London this week, he was once again faced with a Paul-related query from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

“They’re not even remotely close to being in the same weight class. Not even remotely close. This kid is 6”1, 210. Conor McGregor is 155 pounds.”

“That’s exactly something Conor would say [that he isn’t too small]. Why isn’t he calling out Israel Adesanya? I know. I know, and you know, and everybody else knows too.”

Adesanya, the current UFC middleweight champion, is preparing to defend his belt against Jared Cannonier later this year.

Why is Dana White in London?

White has arrived in the English capital for this weekend’s huge UFC London card at the O2 Arena. He’ll be in attendance to see a variety of top names compete including Paddy Pimblett, who has been dubbed ‘the next’ Conor McGregor by many.

Jake Paul, meanwhile, is taking a step back from competing right now to focus on promoting Amanda Serrano’s upcoming unification fight with Katie Taylor.

Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions is heading up the operation alongside Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.

Eternal MMA 64 takes place early Saturday morning. The prelims will be streamed live on GiveMeSport’s official Facebook page, while the main card will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
