Wolverhampton Wanderers could look to cash-in on Morgan Gibbs-White after his loan spell with Sheffield United has seen his value increase, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Gibbs-White joined Championship side Sheffield United on a temporary basis on deadline day of last summer's transfer window and the midfielder has made an impression at Bramall Lane.

What's the latest news involving Gibbs-White?

Gibbs-White may have played for two different managers during his time at Sheffield United, having seen Paul Heckingbottom replace the sacked Slavisa Jokanovic, but that has not stopped the 22-year-old in his tracks.

He has regularly got his name on the scoresheet and provided assists for the Blades and that led to Wolves being open to recalling Gibbs-White during the January transfer window.

However, Wolves boss Bruno Lage has revealed Gibbs-White opted to remain with Sheffield United for the remainder of the season as he wanted to continue enjoying regular football rather than potentially playing a bit-part role at Molineux.

According to TEAMtalk, Gibbs-White's form has resulted in him working his way onto the radar of Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Fulham ahead of the transfer window reopening for business in the summer.

The report suggests the former England under-21 international is set to head to the top flight next term and although Fulham are currently flying high in the Championship, they see him as a potential replacement for Fabio Carvalho, who appears to be set to join Liverpool.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about Gibbs-White?

O'Rourke believes Gibbs-White's value has dramatically shot up thanks to his temporary spell on the books of Sheffield United.

The journalist feels this summer could be the ideal time to sanction the midfield gem's permanent departure if he does not feature in Lage's thinking ahead of next season.

O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: "The loan move has raised his price tag, considering how well he has done at Sheffield United.

"If Bruno Lage doesn't see Morgan Gibbs-White as being a long-term part of his plans, they might be able to get a decent fee for him in the summer if they do decide to cash-in."

How has Gibbs-White performed for Wolves?

Gibbs-White came through the ranks at Molineux and broke into the first-team picture after making an impression for the under-23s.

He has gone on to make 86 appearances for Wolves, contributing three goals and an assist in the process.

Although he has only amassed 28 starts for the West Midlanders, Lage was keen for Gibbs-White to stay at the club instead of heading to Sheffield United on loan.
