The Champions League is seriously hotting up.

With UEFA completing the quarter-final and semi-final draw on Friday afternoon, football fans around the world can start looking forward to the business end of the 2021/22 European season.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich received the most favourable draws against Benfica and Villarreal respectively, while Chelsea lock horns with Real Madrid and Manchester City slug it out with Atletico Madrid.

Business end of the Champions League

There's nothing like the final knockout games of a Champions League season, so seeing such a star-studded line-up of games played under the floodlights across the continent is bound to be epic.

Besides, if we know anything about UEFA's flagship competition then it's that entertainment and unpredictability come hand in hand because rest assured that there will be some upsets along the way.

So, bearing that in mind, we wanted to call upon our predicative powers here at GIVEMESPORT by trying to forecast how the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the Champions League will actually play out.

Now that we know each and every team's potential route to the Stade de France on May 28, we've got more than enough information to nail our colours to the mast and call who will get their hands on 'Big Ears'.

Predicting the remaining Champions League games

If you're thinking that trying to predict something so unpredictable is predictably foolish, then maybe you're right, but don't try and pretend as though it's not a fun exercise to attempt.

So, be sure to work out whether you think we'll look like geniuses or idiots come May by checking out our predictions for every single game left in the 2021/22 Champions League down below:

Quarter-finals

Chelsea vs Real Madrid

First leg: Chelsea 1-0 Real Madrid

Second leg: Real Madrid 2-0 Chelsea (2-1)

See, I think a lot of people are overlooking Los Blancos in Europe and just happen to have a sneaky suspicion that a Chelsea side which has been ebbing and flowing all season are waiting to be found out.

Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema are the perfect combination to prize Chelsea's defence open and the second leg being held at the Bernabeu gives them a great opportunity to come back from behind yet again.

Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid

First leg: Manchester City 2-0 Atletico Madrid

Second leg: Atletico Madrid 1-1 Manchester City (1-3)

You can bet your bottom dollar that Diego Simeone's side will make this a miserable and low-scoring tie at times, but City simply have too much attacking quality not to outclass Atletico over two legs.

Villarreal vs Bayern Munich

First leg: Villarreal 2-2 Bayern Munich

Second leg: Bayern Munich 3-0 Villarreal (5-2)

Uh huh, that's right, I think Villarreal will cause Bayern a lot more problems than people might think, so don't be surprised if the narrative of this tie takes on a similar plot to the Red Bull Salzburg matches.

Something tells me that Bayern won't win at the Estadio de la Cerámica and that Villarreal will bag a couple of goals along the way, but that the trip to the Allianz Arena will ultimately prove to be a bridge too far.

Benfica vs Liverpool

First leg: Benfica 0-3 Liverpool

Second leg: Liverpool 1-0 Benfica (4-0)

At first glance, this might seem like disrespect against Benfica, but the simple fact of the matter is that Liverpool are just too good and I can see them shutting up shop at Anfield having killed off the tie in Portugal.

Semi-finals

Manchester City vs Real Madrid

First leg: Manchester City 2-1 Real Madrid

Second leg: Real Madrid 1-2 Manchester City (2-4)

As much as something in my gut tells me that Real are going all the way to the final this year, you only have to look at their struggles against Paris Saint-Germain to see that they can be exposed.

And frankly, City are the perfect team to do exactly that because they're so proficient at creating chances and flooding the penalty area that they'll be able to tuck away the chances that PSG squandered.

Liverpool vs Bayern Munich

First leg: Liverpool 3-1 Bayern Munich

Second leg: Bayern Munich 1-1 Liverpool (2-4)

Gosh, what a mouth-watering match-up this is. With arguably the world's best front threes exchanging leather across 180 minutes that almost certainly guarantees goals, it comes down to the defences for me.

And while we'd be remiss to sleep on the quality of Bayern's back-line, it's far more likely in my mind that Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip will hold firm than Lucas Hernandez, Niklas Sule and Benjamin Pavard.

Final

Liverpool 2-0 Manchester City

Can you imagine? There's something that feels so dirty, so cruel about tipping Pep Guardiola to lose a second consecutive all-English Champions League final, but I just fancy Liverpool to go all the way, sue me.

I think there's alway scope to do a job on City in one-off matches and the stage is set for Mohamed Salah to round off what could well be a Ballon d'Or-winning season by making it 'seven, baby' in Paris.

However, even if you think that the Citizens would come out on top in a clash between the Premier League title challengers, there's no denying that the knockout tree is ripe for it to happen.

Who do you back to go all the way?

So, there you have it, we've put our necks on the line by making a series of predictions that will almost certainly leave me with egg on my face in just a few weeks' time.

Besides, knowing my luck, Real Madrid will win 6-0 at Stamford Bridge and then lose 7-0 at the Bernabeu to instantly make me look silly before Benfica and Villarreal boot out Liverpool and Bayern.

However, at the end of the day, that's the beauty of the Champions League because you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll be some sort of shock between now and May that you never saw coming.
