Ashley Young: It was like Arsenal had won the league

Young, who won the 2012-13 Premier League title with Manchester United, said it was like watching a team that had just won the league.

“We want to make this a tough place to come and I think it is a tough place,” he told VillaTV after the match.

“You saw the way they celebrated, to be honest it was like they won the league. But it shows they found it tough.

“We want to be in those European places, we want to get the club back there, and everyone’s got that ambition to get the club back there.

“So we want to make it a tough place to come, but we want to be winning games as well.”

Young’s comments, however, have sparked quite the reaction from Arsenal supporters on Twitter:

Arsenal are now firm favourites to finish in the top four ahead of United, West Ham and Tottenham.

And if they improve their squad in the summer then who knows, perhaps the idea of Arsenal seriously challenging Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea is closer than some people think.
