Last night was the showdown of two titans. Thor versus The Beast. Bjornsson, deservedly, won on a points decision and left Eddie Hall to lick his wounds.

Before the fight, Hafthor Bjornsson already listed the injuries he was going to inflict on his boxing rival. These included broken teeth, a broken nose and cuts all over his face.

He didn’t break Hall’s teeth or nose, but he certainly left him with some gruesome cuts on his face. Most notably, the ones above his eyes looked particularly nasty.

Hall looked physically and mentally beaten as he endured six rounds against ‘the biggest man on the planet’. Thor claimed that Hall ‘hits hard’ but did Hall actually put the Icelandic giant under any sort of pressure?

Judging by the images after the fight, Bjornsson looked like he had to hardly break a sweat to defeat the former World’s Strongest Man. This may have been seen as surprising considering Hall was backed by the majority.

Bjornsson has the same reach as his opponent and they are similar ages, but with a five-inch height advantage, should we have expected the demolition from Thor?

Looking at the injuries alone, there was only one clear winner from that fight. Thor was completely unscathed compared to the Brit. This could have been down to Eddie Hall’s very poor boxing technique, which was criticised by many as it left him very vulnerable to the lethal attacks from Bjornsson.

Others would rather praise Bjornsson as it was a very professional performance from him. He didn’t have to do anything too spectacular, but his two massive knockdowns he landed, which were probably the highlight of the night, put the finishing touches on his victory.

Another impressive part of Thor’s performance was his stamina. The 6’8 and 22-stone man looked like he could have lasted 10 rounds. He wore down The Beast, who just couldn’t reply or find an answer to Thor’s display.

Overall, there was a clear winner and Eddie Hall came out of the fight looking considerably worse than his opponent Bjornsson.
