Cesaro and Sheamus to challenge for the Tag Team Championships

Football News

At last night's Clash of Champions event, we saw match seven in the series between Sheamus and Cesaro.

The two had torn each other apart through the series so far but couldn't find a winner last night as the match was stopped for the medical well being of both superstars.

A new direction

Cesaro and Sheamus are far from friends and with the winner of the series being promised a title opportunity, the question was, who will get that opportunity?

Well tonight, RAW General Manager Mick Foley made that decision, and it was certainly one that perplexed the fans.

He would start his announcement by calling both men out to the ring and explaining that there will not be a match eight.

Not allowing the two to tear each other apart again, Foley made a very unusual decision:

Pairing Sheamus and Cesaro together for a run at the Tag Team Championships is certainly a surprising move from Foley.

The two men themselves didn't seem very happy about it either but Foley - who has been in some famously mis-matched tag teams tried to convince them.

To do so, he put them in a tag team match tonight - one that they passed with flying colours.

Tonight's episode of RAW also saw a tag team title match between the New Day and Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

The New Day once again came out victorious and will now take on the make shift duo some time in the future.
