Conor McGregor's counter punching in UFC is glorious to watch

A video on Twitter has shown how lethal Conor McGregor can be when he is at the top of his game.

The video was accompanied with a simple tweet that read: “Conor McGregor’s counter punching.”

It is the video itself that does all the talking, as it shows McGregor reacting to his opponent’s attacks by dodging then hitting back with hard hits.

There is a lot of attention on McGregor at the minute as Notorious is set for a return to the Octagon this year.

There are various clips on the video that show how dominant McGregor, the highest-paid UFC fighter ever, was during his time at the top of the game.

The former two-weight champion is recovering after a severe leg break in his last fight against Dustin Poirier

There have been some questions about whether McGregor will be able to return to his best because of the injury and because of his poor recent record in UFC. Notorious hasn’t won a bout in two years, losing three of his last four fights.

Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has said that UFC’s highest-paid fighter has ‘demons that he is fighting’ and that his ‘hustle is not the same.’

McGregor will be keen to prove to the doubters that he is still the best there is in the Octagon, and not there for the big payouts that his reputation comes with.

He has two fights left on his UFC contract, and several high-profile names have been linked with McGregor for his next fight.

The likes of Nate Diaz, Justin Gaethje and Rafael dos Anjos have been mentioned for McGregor’s return to the Octagon. There is also a fourth fight with Poirier, who would be a popular choice amongst UFC fans given their heated feud.

Whoever McGregor ends up fighting in the ring, they will be keen to avoid any of his counter punches.
