Crystal Palace will ‘have an eye on’ Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara and Aston Villa’s Morgan Sanson ahead of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

It’s expected to be a busy off-season at Selhurst Park as manager Patrick Vieira continues the rebuild of his first-team squad that he started just under a year ago.

What is the latest news involving Palace?

Last term, Palace had the oldest average age of any first-team squad in the Premier League at 28.8, but Roy Hodgson’s departure from the Selhurst Park dugout sparked a change in approach.

Vieira brought in youngsters such as Marc Guehi, Michael Olise and Odsonne Edouard during his first few months at the helm while allowing the likes of Gary Cahill, Andros Townsend and Scott Dann to depart.

However, with eight players currently set to become free agents in the summer, there could be many more changes to come when the market reopens once again.

And two players who could become the latest recruits to Vieira’s revolution in south London are Kamara – who is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt - and Sanson.

According to The Sun, Palace are the latest side to have joined the race for Kamara’s signature, who is set to depart the Stade Vélodrome on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

Meanwhile, French outlet Jeunes Footeux have claimed that the south London outfit are keeping close tabs on Sanson – who is valued at £12.6m – ahead of a potential move.

What has Jones said about Palace?

Jones believes that Kamara and Sanson are both players who Palace will be tracking and that they could be ‘potentially available for transfer’ ahead of next season.

In an exclusive interview, he told GiveMeSport: “I think that they're both players that they’ll have an eye on.

“They’re both at clubs whereby you would feel you've got a good chance of being able to sign them, and you know that they are potentially available for transfer.”

Do Palace need a new midfielder?

Palace recruited two new central midfielders last summer, but with loanee Conor Gallagher set to return to parent club Chelsea and Will Hughes making just 10 Premier League starts, further acquisitions may be required.

In addition, James McArthur, Jeffrey Schlupp and Cheikhou Kouyate are amongst the players who have entered the final few months of their existing deals.

If any of those three experienced campaigners depart Palace, then Vieira could be left with a sizeable hole in his engine room, and one that Kamara or/and Sanson may be able to fill.
