It's a big end to March for Portugal, who are attempting to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

A Seleção could only muster a second place finish in Group A.

They were in pole position going into their final group game against Serbia but, despite taking an early lead in front of their own fans, Serbia mounted a comeback to deny Portugal.

Thus, Portugal will have to come through a playoff to book their spot in Qatar.

They have been drawn to face Turkey in the semi-finals, with the match taking place in Porto on Thursday.

The victor will then take on either Italy or North Macedonia in the final on March 29. The victor of that game will progress to the finals while the loser will have to watch the World Cup at home.

Ahead of the playoffs, a graphic has been posted by Twitter user @Ishanculer of Portugal's squad depth. The image shows just how much talent they have in their ranks. View it below...

Portugal are stacked all over the pitch. On paper, their starting XI is one of the best national sides in the world.

They possess a strong backline featuring Manchester City's world-class duo, Joao Cancelo and Ruben Dias.

Fernando Santos can call upon strong midfielders including William Carvalho, Danilo Pereira, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves.

While their attack is up their with the very best sides in the world.

Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix and Cristiano Ronaldo are all incredible talents who have the individual quality needed to decide any game almost single-handedly.

The fact that players including Diogo Jota, Andre Silva and Rafael Leao don't get in their best XI shows just how strong they are.

Portugal will go down as one of the best sides ever to not qualify for a World Cup should they fail in their playoff bid this month.
