Whilst the original game was not a major seller originally, it gained a cult following for innovative gameplay and a compelling story.

There have been indications that the game will be released for quite some time, but where does the game sit currently in terms of development?

Here’s everything that we currently know about Beyond Good & Evil 2, including the latest leaks on the highly-anticipated game.

At the time of writing, there is no indication in regards to when Beyond good and Evil 2 will be coming out.

But fear not! We will update this section of the article as soon as more information emerges in the coming days, weeks and months ahead.

Ubisoft confirmed on the official website for the game what the story would be for the game, saying that it will be a prequel to the original Beyond Good & Evil:

“Journey to System 3 for the prequel to one of Ubisoft’s most beloved games! Encounter unforgettable characters in a stunning new planetary system, as you struggle for freedom and the right to determine your own fate among the stars.

“Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an action-adventure RPG that you can play alone or with your friends in co-op. Take on enemies on planets or in space, at massively different scales: from the close-quarters inside a hidden temple to the uncharted edges of the system!”

Noted gaming insider Tom Henderson recently revealed the latest on the game as part of a blog for XFire.

He noted: “Beyond Good and Evil 2 seems like a game that will never release, and although the same has been said about Skull & Bones in the past, it’s hard not to make a direct comparison.

“The title has suffered from many problems these past couple of years, with some comments from developers to me in November 2021 suggesting that the game could be canned. Despite these comments, it appears Beyond Good and Evil 2 now lies in the Ubisoft category of ‘we’ve spent too much and can’t give up now.’

“I wouldn’t be expecting to hear much about BG&E2 for a while.”

So whilst that isn’t the most promising news for the game, we do at least have an indication that Ubisoft will not be cancelling development due to the costs already incurred.
