Conor McGregor is still jacked as hell right now as Kamaru Usman feud continues

For Conor McGregor, 2022 has thus far been a relatively quiet year.

That, however, could be about to change.

Still stinging from his trilogy fight defeat to Dustin Poirier last July, The Notorious One has been plotting his comeback to the Octagon and last week called out UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

But there could be a sizeable complication. Notably, with McGregor himself.

After detailing his current training regime during St. Patrick’s Day week, on Monday the Irishman took to social media to document his intensive workout schedule, with more than a few jaws needing to picked up off the floor.

As McGregor unveiled a new, heavier, muscular look, the 33-year-old appeared a world away from his featherweight and lightweight roots of days past.

McGregor arguably looks in the shape of his life, but billed as 154lbs and now having piled on the muscle, his hopes of staying under the 170lb limit to fight Usman must be under considerable doubt.

Having fought at welterweight in UFC only three times, the division still remains fairly unfamiliar territory, and reportedly now weighing in around the 190lb mark, it appears a fourth shot looks unlikely.

So, with a bout versus the The Nigerian Nightmare highly doubtful – Usman having held the belt since 2019 – where might that leave McGregor?

Without slimming down again, the middleweight arena could be his best shot, but is the Dubliner cut out for current champ Israel Adesanya?

McGregor never has shied away from a challenge.
