Nate Diaz appears to throw shade at Jorge Masvidal

UFC star Nate Diaz appeared to take a shot at Jorge Masvidal in the early hours of Wednesday morning through a cryptic social media dig.

We all know that Nate Diaz is the kind of fighter who says and does what he wants when he wants. In many ways, that’s been part of the appeal ever since the king of Stockton first walked into the UFC.

In the latest chapter of his career he hasn’t been quite as active as many fans would’ve desired but in late 2019, he put on one of the most exciting fights of the year – and one of the biggest – when he main evented UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden against Jorge Masvidal.

A bad cut led to a doctor stoppage win for ‘Gamebred’ and while they seemed to be quite amicable with one another in the lead-up, their relationship appears to have deteriorated based on some of their Twitter interactions.

Earlier this week, Masvidal got himself into a spot of bother by initiating a brawl with rival Colby Covington down in Miami. The incident came just a few weeks after Colby beat Jorge via unanimous decision in their UFC 272 grudge match.

Diaz, who has been watching this all unfold, made some remarks late last night that many believe were directed at Masvidal.

“Ps u got ur ass whooped N or out the cage your in the big leagues now don’t ever lose. Ninja talk”

Diaz hasn’t fought since back at UFC 263 when he fell to a dramatic decision loss at the hands of Leon Edwards.

Will we see Masvidal vs Diaz 2?

Given the fact that Nate has just one fight remaining on his UFC contract, we’d say there’s a decent chance his swansong could come against Masvidal.

Jorge is in need of a win given his recent form, Diaz wants revenge for UFC 244, and they’re two of the most popular names in the sport.

There’s always a chance that Conor McGregor could through a spanner into the works but these guys have history of their own, and with the way it all went down in their first meeting, it definitely feels like unfinished business.
