WWE’s women’s division could receive a boost very soon, with reports of Bayley being back in action within the next month. The record reigning former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been out of action since July 2021 after suffering a serious knee injury whilst training at WWE’s Performance Center. At the time, the 32-year-old was in the midst of a feud with Bianca Belair and set to face The EST of WWE at Money in the Bank 2021 in an ‘I Quit’ match for the SmackDown Women’s Title. However, she sustained a torn ACL while performing a chain wrestling drill and was expected to be on the side-lines for around nine months.

That timescale indicated an April return and according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider the star could be back on television very soon. Claiming that Bayley is expected to return ‘within the next month or so’. Ruling the Grand Slam champion out of any likely part of WrestleMania in Dallas next month.

Bayley has recently taken to Twitter to tease fans on her possible return, by highlight her status as a ‘free agent’ after she wasn’t assigned a brand during the October WWE draft. She also made light of her missing out on a match at WrestleMania for the second year in a row, by claiming she should have challenged Stone Cold Steve Austin to a match.

Bayley made her WrestleMania debut in 2017, defeating Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax and Sasha Banks in a Fatal-4-Way elimination match to retain her Raw Women’s Championship. A year later she was part of the Women’s Battle Royal, where she was the last women eliminated by eventual winner Naomi, and then WrestleMania 35 she was part of The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection team with Sasha Banks that lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles to The IIconics.
