If Rangers are to sell the likes of Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos, it ‘has to be this year’, according to senior Gers journalist Chris Jack.

The aforementioned attacking trio, alongside defender Filip Helander, who is valued at £3.15m by Transfermarkt, have all entered the final 18 months of their current contracts and this summer could be the final chance for the Ibrox outfit to receive substantial transfer fees for them.

What is the latest news involving Rangers?

It could become a summer of mass changes for new Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, with several senior campaigners set to become free agents when their existing deals expire in June.

Connor Goldson, Scott Arfield, Steven Davis, Leon Balogun and Allan McGregor are all approaching the end of their contracts and are yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

Meanwhile, Rangers may be forced to part ways with a host of other first-team stars or risk losing them for nothing in the summer of 2023.

The Glasgow giants’ managing director Stewart Robertson has previously stated how offloading players is a ‘key part’ of their business model as they look to compete with their more affluent European rivals.

“We know that in time a key part of our business model means that we have to facilitate an increase in income by trading players,” Robertson said in 2020.

And if Kent, Aribo, who is valued at £9m, Morelos, who is valued at £11.7m, and Helander refuse to commit their futures to Rangers, then they may have to be moved on ahead of next season.

What has Jack said about Rangers?

Given the circumstances, Jack believes Van Bronckhorst may have no choice but to offload some of his most important players when the market reopens for business.

He told GiveMeSport: “Rangers, with the contract situations of the likes of Aribo, Kent, Morelos and Helander, their value is low now because they only have 12 months left on their deals come the summer.

“So, if they’re going to sell them, it has to be this year.”

Who could buy Kent, Aribo and Morelos?

According to The Sun, Premier League outfit Crystal Palace have lined up Aribo as Conor Gallagher’s long-term heir and are plotting a £10 million bid for the Nigeria international.

Kent, who is valued at £12.6m, on the other hand, has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in a deal that would see him reunited with former boss Steven Gerrard.

While Charlie Nicholas has claimed Morelos is ‘100 per cent guaranteed to be leaving Rangers this summer’ after switching agents.
