Former WWE Diva’s champion Paige has admitted she is still looking to return to the ring.

Paige was forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2018, following on-going injury issues with her neck. She later went on to be General Manager of SmackDown, a manger for Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville and then as a panellist for FOX show WWE Backstage, but she has reiterated her desire to return to ring in a new social media post.

Responding to a question from a fan about what she wanted to do amid cries for her return at this January’s Royal Rumble, she quote tweeted the account with the answer ‘I wanna wrestle again’.

The 29-year-old also hit back at some suggestions that she hadn’t returned to action because she was ‘lazy’. With some pointing out that Edge and Daniel Bryan have returned from similar injuries, but we are yet to see a comeback from the ‘Anti-Diva’.

Paige replied to these criticisms by calling Edge and Bryan inspirations and stating that her neck still needs time to recover as we are all built differently.

The Norwich-native signed with WWE in 2011, a journey which was highlighted in the 2019 film Fighting With My Family, a movie inspired by Paige and her family’s story.

She was crowned the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion in 2013, before making her main roster debut the night after WrestleMania 30. Shockingly defeating AJ Lee to become the first women to hold both the NXT and Diva’s Championship and thus becoming the youngest Superstar to hold a WWE women’s championship - and the first women to win a title on her debut.
