Gary Anderson is at the centre of the darts drama once again as he confronted Joe Cullen following his Premier League defeat last night.
After winning the match 6-5, Cullen walked back to his table and a clearly irritated Anderson spoke in the ear of the English player.
The argument resumed as the Scot walked off stage with a surprised Cullen then doing an over-exuberant celebration to the Rotterdam crowd.
It was later revealed that Andersonâs complaint was due to encroachment by Cullen as the Scot thought he wasnât being given enough space.
Speaking to DAZN after the match, The Rockstar said: âFor want of a better expression he called me a cheat.
âGary was saying âI know what I didâ, I said I donât know what I did. I did absolutely nothing wrong.
âIâve never had an issue with Gary in the past.
âIâve done absolutely nothing wrong; my conscience is clear. I donât know what it was.
âI said âwatch every camera back youâve gotâ. I donât know whether it was the heat of the moment.
âWe all do stupid things in the heat of the moment. Iâm a lot of things but Iâm not a cheat.
âIâve got a lot of respect for Gary, heâs a great ambassador for the sport but I think he let himself down a bit tonight.â
Itâs not the first time that the 51-year-old has been at the centre of controversy as he has famously had run-ins with Gerwyn Price and Mensur Suljovic in the past.
The 32-year-old went on to win the Premier League night, as he beat Peter Wright 6-4 and then home favourite Michael van Gerwen 6-5 in the final.
He becomes the sixth different winner of a Premier League night since the format changed for this yearâs tournament.
Cullen started the evening rock-bottom of the table, but he has now climbed up into the play-off places ahead of the night in Birmingham next week.
Anderson will have to pick himself up as he is in seventh in the standings despite winning the night in Nottingham last week.
Van Gerwen remains on top spot in the table ahead of Peter Wright and Jonny Clayton.
