Khabib Nurmagomedov has recently expressed his views on Colby Covington and said he should be blacklisted by UFC welterweights.

This has come out following Jorge Masvidal’s arrest on suspicion of alleged assault on Covington, just 16 days after the former was at the hands of a defeat from the latter at UFC 272.

The war of words in the build up for the fight were quite distasteful from Covington, as he personally insulted Masvidal, such as calling him a “deadbeat dad”.

Khabib felt that once Colby had directed trash talk towards Masvidal’s kids prior to their clash that he should have been prepared for the consequences that would follow.

“If you are stronger than someone inside the Octagon, it does not mean you can insult his children. No one has the right to insult someone’s family."

Of course, it wouldn’t be a UFC altercation without Conor McGregor having some sort of involvement.

The Irishman, who is ambitiously lining up a fight with Kamara Usman, would criticise Khabib’s views in a now-deleted tweet.

McGregor replied to Khabib's suggestion, claiming that if welterweights were to blacklist Covington, the American would just move up in weight.

“He’d just go up to middleweight cos he’s not a fat f****.”

This response seems to be a cheap shot at Khabib seeing as he refused to move up in weight during his career.

The two UFC phenomenon’s social media feud continues to live on following McGregor’s loss in 2018 at UFC 229. The Irishman wanted to avenge his defeat, but Khabib vowed to never fight again following his late father’s passing.

Strangely enough, Covington has expressed his interested in moving up and fighting Israel Adesanya at middleweight and if his fellow welterweights are on board with Khabib’s idea, McGregor’s advice might not be so bad after all.

Trouble just seems to follow McGregor and this situation is no different.
