An Instagram account has recently posted an old photo of UFC legend Conor McGregor and it's safe to say he looks borderline unrecognisable to what he does today.

The photo came from the face-off between McGregor and Jose Aldo that took place back on December 12, 2015.

The Irish fighter produced an incredible performance at UFC 194 and KO'd Aldo just 13 seconds into the first round of their bout.

He likely took home around $16 million from that fight, an astonishing $1.3 million for each second of action.

McGregor made his name in UFC in the featherweight and lightweight divisions, with his first fight in the welterweight division coming against Donald Cerrone in January 2020.

The Notorious tipped the scales at 170lbs at the weigh-in with Cerrone, compared to a measly 145lbs in his last featherweight fight against Aldo.

McGregor has been warned by fellow UFC star Sean O'Malley not to return to the lightweight division upon his return to the cage.

O'Malley said: "If he's at 190lbs right now, he shouldn't drop down to 155 for his next fight.

"But watch him do it, and be fast as f***, and be better than ever."

However, it seems McGregor wants to challenge the current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman upon his return to action.

Usman is currently recovering from hand surgery, but is expected to fight this summer. He has repeatedly said that his next fight will be against Leon Edwards, who is riding a nine-fight win streak.

McGregor has been sidelined since July after breaking his tibia and fibula in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.

He has been limited to only weight training since his injury, and has only just returned to hitting the pads in the gym.

The 33-year-old has set an April return date for a 'full MMA sparring' with plans to line up a fight shortly after that.
