The 33-year-old is currently Eddie Howe’s No.1; however, the Magpies continue to be linked with a host of other shot-stoppers.
Which goalkeepers are Newcastle being linked with?
According to a report from the Daily Star last month, Newcastle are keen on adding Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga to their squad in the next transfer window.
It is unlikely to be a cheap deal, though, with the same outlet stating that the European champions are looking for around £50m for the Spaniard they paid £71m for back in 2018.
As well as Kepa, Manchester United No.2 Dean Henderson is another goalkeeper thought to be on the Tyneside club’s radar.
As per the MailOnline, they are already working on a deal to sign the 25-year-old, while Arsenal’s Bernd Leno and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone, who will be a free agent this summer, are also under consideration.

What has O’Rourke said about Dubravka’s future?
With Newcastle likely to sign a new No.1 before the start of next season, O’Rourke believes 6 ft 3 Dubravka could be heading for the exit door.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the transfer insider said: “It’s obviously an area they want to improve on so, with that in mind, you’d be thinking that Dubravka might have to move on.”
Which goalkeeper should take Dubravka’s spot?
Dubravka, who has played 18 times under Howe in the current campaign, will not want to be the understudy at St James’ Park. All things considered, he is probably too good for that.
The Rafael Benitez signing has been a great servant for the club since initially joining on loan from Sparta Prague in January 2018, going on to make 121 appearances and keep 33 clean sheets. Therefore, it is hard to imagine him staying if Newcastle do end up buying a new goalkeeper.
In terms of who Howe should be looking to bring in out of the names currently being mooted, Henderson is a very appealing option.
The England international is likely to be available having failed to start a single game in the Premier League this season, while he has looked decent when actually given an opportunity.
Back in the 2019/20 campaign, Henderson kept 13 clean sheets in the English top flight while on loan at Sheffield United, a number that was only bettered by Burnley’s Nick Pope (15) and Golden Glove winner Ederson (16).
