Chris Eubank Jr could be back in the boxing ring this summer to face Kell Brook after beating Liam Williams.

That is according to his promoter Kalle Sauerland, who talks to Eubank regularly and believes he will be back in action this coming summer against a big name, such as Brook.

There had been reports that they could compete at a catchweight with Eubank currently several pounds heavier than Brook.

But Sauerland is still negotiating with Brook's promoter Ben Shalom to make the fight happen.

The Wasserman Boxing chief told Sky Sports: "I can confirm that we had meetings with Boxxer last week and they are now speaking to Brook.

"We're in a positive dialogue and it's a fight that we would love to get made.

"The question is whether certain issues can be resolved.

"If everyone is sensible, I can see that happening and I can see it being a big summer blockbuster.

"But there's still work to be done. We're ready. Our terms are known."

Eubank settled his rivalry with Williams by battering him from pillar to post in front of his home crowd in Cardiff earlier this year.

This came after the British star's triumph over Wanik Awdijan last year, which followed a decision win over Marcus Morrison in Manchester.

The 32-year-old had been hoping to face IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin next, with Demetrius Andrade and Billy Joe Saunders also touted as potential opponents.

First up for Golovkin however is his unification clash with Japanese star Ryoto Murata on April 9.

Brook meanwhile is currently weighing up his next move having received plenty of offers from rival promoters in recent weeks.

In his last fight, the 35-year-old sent Brit rival Amir Khan into likely retirement with a punishing sixth-round stoppage.

But Shalom has told Brook and Eubank that they both have to be 'realistic about the weight'.

He previously said: "The fight is very realistic, but only if they are both realistic about the weight.

"Brook is happy to be realistic by coming up from 149lbs to 154lbs or 155lbs.

"But Eubank Jr also has to be realistic. And that involves coming down to 155lbs.

"Brook made a mistake with Golovkin and won't make the same mistake again at this stage of his career.

"He has shown that he is willing to come up again to fight Eubank Jr.

"But Eubank Jr must come down in weight. If he can, it's a huge fight.

"Brook has a lot of options now. He has just won a huge event with a huge amount of interest in it.

"He showed himself to still be in a very good condition.
