Steven Bergwijn's form on the international stage could enhance his price tag and benefit Tottenham in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The winger has endured another tough season in North London, but he enjoyed a welcome break when playing for Holland in recent days.

How did Bergwijn perform for Holland?

It's generally been an underwhelming two years since Bergwijn made the £27m move from PSV, but whenever he pulls on an orange shirt, he looks a completely different player.

Bergwijn ended 2021 by scoring a fine goal and later assisting Memphis Depay to book their place at the Qatar World Cup later this year.

And the Spurs attacker continued his excellent form on the international stage by netting a further three goals in two games.

Firstly, Bergwijn scored twice, including a stunning second strike, against Denmark last weekend before netting the equaliser to secure a draw with Germany in Amsterdam three days later.

Bergwijn has now scored as many goals for his country this season (3) in just four appearance as he has done in 25 games for Tottenham.

And O'Rourke reckons that Bergwijn's international form could help Spurs receive a higher fee for his services this summer.

What did O'Rourke say about Bergwijn?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Scoring goals, playing well for his country if he's not getting many games for Tottenham, will only enhance his price tag in the summer transfer window."

Will Bergwijn leave Tottenham this summer?

Despite Bergwijn performing well for Holland, his days at Spurs might be numbered.

Not only did Ajax launch a bid for him in January, but his chances since the window closed haven't improved.

Bergwijn was rewarded for his brace at Leicester with a start at Chelsea four days later, but his game-time since then has been limited.

He has featured in eight of Spurs' last nine Premier League games since the 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, but they've all been substitute appearances, totalling up to less than 90 minutes.

His opportunities haven't been helped by the arrival and form of Dejan Kulusevski, but even before the Swede signed from Juventus, Bergwijn appeared in a battle to save his Tottenham career.

And with Kulusevski now a permanent part of the front three under Antonio Conte, Bergwijn's chances of leaving this summer have surely only improved.
