Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has a 'ready-made replacement' for Tyrick Mitchell in Tayo Adaramola if the Eagles opt to cash-in on the left-back, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, there are question marks over whether Mitchell will still be at Selhurst Park by the time next season gets underway.

What's the latest news involving Mitchell?

Mitchell enjoyed an international break to remember as he won his first two England caps in the friendly wins over Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

His call-up to Gareth Southgate's squad came after the 22-year-old had missed just eight minutes of the Premier League campaign.

But it appears he has not only caught the eye of the Three Lions chief as The Sun have revealed a host of Premier League clubs are monitoring Mitchell's progress ahead of potentially making a summer move.

The report suggests Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have all taken an interest in the £15.3million-rated ace due to looking to bolster their options at left-back.

Should any of Mitchell's suitors strengthen their interest, Palace are in a strong negotiating position as his £25,000-per-week contract does not expire until the summer of 2025.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about the situation?

O'Rourke understands that Palace do not necessarily need to sell one of their prised assets in a matter of months.

However, the journalist feels the emergence of Adaramola is a major positive amid interest in Mitchell.

He reckons the 18-year-old full-back's recent rise to the senior squad could tempt the Eagles into sanctioning Mitchell's move away from Selhurst Park.

O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: "It's a good place for Palace to be right now because they might have a ready-made replacement for Tyrick Mitchell if they do decide to cash-in on him."

How has Adaramola performed for Palace?

Having made a late cameo appearance in the FA Cup fourth round win over Hartlepool United, Adaramola took his development to the next level by being included in the starting line-up as Palace overcame Stoke City in the next stage of the competition.

Vieira showered Adaramola with praise after his performance against Stoke, suggesting the defender showed his potential and ‘there is a platform there to develop him’.

It is clear that the academy graduate is highly-rated by Vieira and the key decision-makers behind-the-scenes as, according to the Evening Standard, Palace turned down the opportunity to sign a number of left-backs during the January transfer window as they did not want to block Adaramola’s pathway into the senior set-up.
