Vince McMahon, WWE owner, surprised fans for two reasons this weekend.

The first being that he was taking part in his first WrestleMania match in 12 years. The other was how great the 76-year-old looked.

One fan tweeted: "At 70+, Vince McMahon is in ridiculous shape. What a guy, stepping into the ring at this age."

This shocking return occurred after Pat McAfee challenged McMahon to enter the ring.

The WWE owner wasted no time as he removed his suit to reveal the vest underneath.

Despite losing all four previous fights at the event, he didn’t let that faze him as he went on to pick up his first ever victory.

His previous four losses include the one against his own son Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 17. Two years later, he was defeated by Hulk Hogan. Then, at the 2006 edition of The Show of Shows, he faced Shawn Michaels and achieved his hat trick of losses. He didn’t let that stop him, though, as he then went on to face Bret Hart in 2010. That looked like it was the final nail in the coffin as he got his fourth successive loss.

However, 12 years later and Vince McMahon has finally got his WrestleMania moment after around two decades of trying.

You can’t say he doesn’t deserve this victory after all he’s done for professional wrestling and also his longevity has to be respected. He has helped cement wrestling into American culture and has expanded it worldwide.

McMahon has also been described as ‘the most successful promoter ever’ and a ‘marketing genius’ as he has gripped all ages to the sport.

When, or if, Vince McMahon does eventually retire, he will have left behind a brilliant and action-packed career that has helped increase the popularity of wrestling.

It’s unlikely, but who knows, maybe he’ll be looking to try and get back-to-back wins at WrestleMania now he’s finally got a victory.
