Conor McGregor shows off new footwork as comeback continues

UFC star Conor McGregor has unveiled new training footage that confirms his recovery from injury has progressed.

Last summer at UFC 264, Conor McGregor suffered a broken leg during his trilogy fight with long-time rival Dustin Poirier. Many wondered if and when the Irishman would return and while he has yet to step back into the Octagon, he’s made it crystal clear that he intends to fight once again in the UFC.

The former two-weight world champion may no longer be viewed as a title contender by many, but his star power alone means you can bet he’ll be in a high profile match-up when he does make that walk.

Back at Bellator Dublin earlier this year, McGregor noted in an interview with Severe MMA that he planned on being back to sparring around April. While this clip may not show that he’s ready to throw down tomorrow, he seems to be far more nimble on his feet than he has been in a long time.

He wants to come back bigger, better and stronger, and if there’s one thing we know about Conor McGregor, it’s that he’s always determined to prove the doubters wrong.

“I’m gonna break a head with these. Add it to the list of heads.”

Based on the social trend of fighters coming after Conor from every direction, we can expect a string of prospective opponents to start throwing shade at him shortly.

Who could McGregor face?

Every single fighter on the roster would be interested in taking on Conor McGregor. The financial rewards available to anyone who takes up the challenge are obvious for all to see and with the majority believing he’s no longer in his prime, it makes perfect sense for his foes to smell blood in the water.

McGregor himself recently suggested that he wants to pursue a third world title in the UFC by going after Kamaru Usman. The champion has since laughed off that suggestion but if the money is right, it could happen.

Alternatively he could face Jorge Masvidal, Poirier again, Nate Diaz for the third time, or perhaps even the winner of Charles Oliveira vs Justin Gaethje.

The possibilities are truly endless.
