UFC middleweight Sean Strickland has freaked some fans out by posting footage of him doing motorcycle stunts ahead of UFC 277.
There are some fascinating fighters currently residing on the UFC roster but few have been as controversial in recent times as Sean Strickland. The 31-year-old is a vocal man on social media and whether you like him or hate him, he knows how to make some noise.
In terms of what he can do inside the Octagon, there’s a good argument to be made that he should be in line for a title shot if he wins his next fight at UFC 277.
On that July 30 night, he’ll go head to head with rising prospect Alex Pereira.
‘Poatan’ is, in the eyes of many, being pushed to the stars by the UFC with the masses wanting to see what he can do in a potential rematch with Israel Adesanya.
For those who don’t know, Pereira holds a 2-0 record over ‘The Last Stylebender’ from their pre-MMA kickboxing days.
Given that Strickland could be one victory away from going after the belt, you would’ve thought that he’d be fully focused on the task at hand. Instead, as we can see in the following tweets, he’s choosing the daredevil life ahead of his training camp getting underway.
All fighters have the right to prepare for battle in their own way but in this instance, it’d be understandable for UFC president Dana White to give Sean Strickland a call and ask him what exactly he’s thinking.
The comeback of Sean Strickland
After being involved in a motorcycle accident in late 2018, Strickland had two years off before returning to action at 185 pounds.
In the present day he’s riding a six-fight win streak with triumphs over Uriah Hall and Jack Hermansson to his name.
The manner in which he’s been able to get the W hasn’t always blown fans away but when push comes to shove, getting your hand raised is the most important priority.
If he can do so against Pereira, the entire middleweight landscape could begin to look a lot different.
