Tottenham Hotspur managing director Fabio Paratici should target Torino frontman Andrea Belotti as he prepares to become a free agent in the summer, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Antonio Conte is preparing for his second transfer window since taking over as Spurs' head coach last November, with the Italian having the opportunity to add reinforcements to his squad.

What's the latest news involving Belotti?

Belotti is preparing to leave Torino at the end of the campaign as his £64,000-per-week is due to expire in the summer.

That means the striker, who is valued at £25.2million by Transfermarkt, is available to suitors without them having to pay a fee.

Belotti has been able to sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs since the turn of the year and Italian media outlet Tuttosport, via Sport Witness, have revealed Tottenham are tracking the 28-year-old.

The report suggests the influence of Conte and Paratici could give Spurs the upper-hand over other clubs despite it being likely that he will be seen as a back-up option to Harry Kane.

Torino's Serie A rivals Napoli are also understood to be interested in striking a deal, but Belotti's family are not thought to be excited by the prospect of heading to Naples.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about Belotti?

O'Rourke has urged Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy to look to welcome Belotti to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when his Torino contract reaches its climax.

The journalist believes Spurs would be making a shrewd signing if the Italian were to head to north London, particularly as they will not have to part with a transfer fee.

O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: "Belotti is a good player who has been a regular for the Italian national team. He is a Euro winner as well.

"He is a free agent, so that's a deal Spurs should be looking at, really, right now."

Why is Belotti on Spurs' radar?

It has not been Belotti's finest season, with him only finding the back of the net five times in 17 appearances, but he has previously shown how much of a threat he can be in the penalty area.

Over the course of his senior club career, which has solely been spent in his homeland, Belotti has scored 140 goals.

That tally has been key in the frontman winning 42 international caps for Italy, with him getting his name on the scoresheet 12 times.

Being on Torino's books has not helped Belotti's chances of getting his hands on silverware, but he was a member of the Italy squad which were crowned Euro 2020 champions at Wembley last summer.
