Leeds United trio Kiko Casilla, Laurens de Bock and Ian Poveda are likely to leave Elland Road this summer as they do not have a long-term future with the Whites, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The reopening of the transfer window is fast approaching and it will offer head coach Jesse Marsch the opportunity to put his stamp on the squad he inherited from Marcelo Bielsa in February.

What's the latest news involving Casilla, de Bock and Poveda?

Casilla may have won the Championship title during his time in Yorkshire and enjoyed a trophy-laden spell while on the books of Real Madrid, but it appears his time at Leeds is coming to an end.

Having made 62 appearances for the Whites, the goalkeeper returned to his homeland and joined Spanish side Elche on a season-long loan last summer.

The 35-year-old is approaching the final 12 months of his £40,000-per-week contract, so this summer is set to be one of the last chances Leeds have to secure a transfer fee for Casilla.

De Bock, meanwhile, will see his deal run out at the end of the season and is not even spending his final days with the club in Yorkshire.

The left-back, who cost Leeds £1.5million, has gone on to make just seven appearances in more than four years and is currently on loan with Zulte Waregem.

Like Casilla and de Bock, Poveda was shipped out on a temporary basis last summer, with him linking up with Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

The 22-year-old still has more than two years remaining on his current agreement at Elland Road, but that means it could be the ideal opportunity to cash-in on Poveda.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about the trio?

O'Rourke believes Casilla, de Bock and Poveda will be allowed to move onto pastures new at the end of the campaign.

The journalist feels they are not part of Marsch's long-term plans with the Yorkshire giants.

O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: "I think, looking at the bigger picture, these players don't seem to be part of the long-term future at Leeds United."

Is there any way back for Casilla, de Bock or Poveda at Leeds?

With Marsch being appointed as Leeds' head coach just a matter of weeks ago, there is a possibility that he could look to reintegrate Casilla, de Bock and Poveda back into the squad and give them a chance to impress.

However, Illan Meslier has nailed down the spot between the sticks, starting every game this season, meaning Casilla's days of being the Whites' number one shot-stopper are long gone.

De Bock never truly nailed down the left-back slot and is not expected to be offered fresh terms, so it appears certain that he has featured for the last time, while Poveda - who has made 20 appearances for the club - will struggle to become Marsch's first choice right winger thanks to Raphinha making the position his own since his £17million move from Rennes.
