Former two-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo had some words of wisdom for Conor McGregor after the latter posted more training footage on social media.
It may be entertaining in the eyes of some, but the Twitter feud between Henry Cejudo and Conor McGregor certainly feels a little bit bizarre. We all know âTriple Câ has strong connections to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Kamaru Usman, notable foes of McGregor, but recently Cejudo himself has started prodding the bear - to the point where heâs even suggested going up to 155 pounds to take on the Irishman.
That isnât likely to happen anytime soon but at the very least, heâs been able to get a rise out of the original âchamp champâ.
McGregor has spent the last couple of months gradually working his way back into a training routine with his plan being to return from injury later this year. The 33-year-old suffered a broken leg back at UFC 264 and yet despite that, heâs still insistent on having another big run in the UFC.
Cejudo, meanwhile, is happy to come at him from every angle whenever he provides fans with an update on how things are going.
âEverything is done naked. No fakes, no faints, no level changes. But you think your going to get a different result. You work to much on combinations where you should be working entries, set ups, and setting traps. Just a tip from the goat mahhhhâ
Sure, itâs annoying to some, but thatâs exactly the kind of character the Olympic gold medal holder has been building.
Will Henry Cejudo return?
Thereâs definitely some interest in the prospect of Henry Cejudo making a comeback, even though itâs been nearly two years since he retired from mixed martial arts.
Interestingly enough both Cejudo and McGregor are keen on going after the same honour: a third world title.
Nobody has ever won a UFC belt in three weight classes and these ambitious individuals want to change that. McGregor is eager to hunt down Kamaru Usman at welterweight, whereas Cejudo hasnât exactly been shy in calling out Alexander Volkanovski at featherweight.
For now, âThe Greatâ has a different challenge ahead of him as he prepares to defend the featherweight strap at UFC 273 this weekend.
