Crystal Palace ace Tyrick Mitchell has 'no real reason' to seek a move away from Selhurst Park despite gaining interest from a host of Premier League rivals, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Patrick Vieira was appointed as the Eagles' manager last summer, following a lengthy search for Roy Hodgson's successor, and the change in the dugout has paid off for Mitchell.

What's the latest news involving Mitchell?

According to The Sun, Manchester City are one of numerous top flight clubs monitoring Mitchell ahead of the reopening of the transfer window in the summer.

The report suggests City chief Pep Guardiola is looking to sign a new left-back in preparation for next season, but Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also understood to be keen on Mitchell.

Although the left-back is valued at £15.3million by Transfermarkt, it is likely that suitors will need to stump up far more than that figure if they want to prise Mitchell away from Selhurst Park.

That is because Mitchell is reportedly loving life under Vieira and Palace have no interest in sanctioning the academy product's departure.

The Eagles find themselves in a strong negotiating position as the 22-year-old's £25,000-per-week contract does not expire until the summer of 2025.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about Mitchell?

O'Rourke does not feel there is any reason why Mitchell would want to turn his back on Palace at the end of the season and head onto pastures new.

The Eagles ace picked up his first two England caps during last month's international break and O'Rourke believes his call-up to Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad shows there is a pathway to the World Cup if he remains a regular starter in south London.

The journalist told GIVEMESPORT: "He came in as a relatively unknown, but he's established himself as a key man of the Palace side and is now being recognised on the international front for England.

"There's no real reason for Tyrick Mitchell to leave Crystal Palace when he's getting so many plaudits for England as well."

How has Mitchell performed this season?

Mitchell has made the left-back position his own since the campaign got underway, with him only missing eight minutes of Premier League action.

In total, he has made 34 appearances since Vieira moved into the dugout and played his part in eye-catching wins over the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Mitchell's impressive form has allowed him to break into the international picture with England, which led to the full-back admitting earning a place in Southgate's squad was a 'dream come true'.
