WrestleMania is unquestionably the biggest event in sports entertainment.

A truly momentous occasion that only comes around once a year, 'Mania always provides viewers with action ranging from the spectacular to the ridiculous.

This year’s showcase proved to be no exception.

Night one was filled with genuinely great technical wrestling, whereas night two was a lot more unorthodox. The unpredictability of both nights kept fans on the edge of their seats, wondering what could possibly be next.

A total of 16 matches were on display, some better than others, but only one could be considered a total flop, which is pretty good going from the WWE.

The guys over at WhatCulture have ranked each matchup from worst to best, and here are the results!

16. The New Day vs Sheamus & Ridge Holland

Winner(s): Sheamus & Ridge Holland

A devastating Brogue Kick from Sheamus on Kofi saw his team seal the win. A forgettable matchup which wouldn’t have looked out of place on a house show.

15. Pat McAfee vs Mr. McMahon

Winner: Mr. McMahon

For a 76-year-old man, Vince McMahon put on a decent match. He used Austin Theory mainly to do the bulk of the work, understandably. The match was only a couple of minutes long but provided a lot of excitement - particularly after Stone Cold Steve Austin Stunnered all who came before him.

14. Omos vs Bobby Lashley

Winner: Bobby Lashley

The classic battle of the big men. Omos, who hadn’t been knocked down in a WWE ring until the Raw before WrestleMania, found former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley too steep a mountain to climb.

13. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar - WWE title and WWE Universal title match

Winner: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is arguably the biggest thing in professional wresting right now. The guy is red hot and managed to add to his title collection with a victory over The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.

12. The Usos vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs- Smackdown tag team title match

Winner: The Usos

Solid if not spectacular. A good tag team bout between two sets of talented wrestlers. The Usos managed to come out on top and keep the gold in The Bloodline.

11. Happy Corbin vs Drew McIntyre

Winner: Drew McIntyre

A very enjoyable match between these two Superstars. Happy Corbin thought he had the win after delivering his finishing manoeuvre End of Days, but the Scotsman was able to kick out and score a pinfall victory after a brutal Claymore Kick.

10. Naomi & Sasha Banks vs Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley vs Shayna Baszler & Natalya vs Zelina Vega & Carmella- Womens tag team title match

Winner(s): Naomi and Sasha Banks

Fatal-4-way tag team matches are always good fun, and this was no different. A fast-paced encounter saw Sasha Banks break her WrestleMania curse and finally leave The Showcase of the Immortals as a winner.

9. Austin Theory vs Pat McAfee

Winner: Pat McAfee

Pat McAfee looked every bit a natural in the squared circle. There were a lot of near-falls and the odd surprise (McAfee’s athletic moonsault being one.) Overall, a good match in which the correct man’s hand raised at the end.

8. The Mysterios vs. The Miz & Logan Paul

Winner(s): The Miz & Logan Paul

As far as celebrity matches go, this was right up there. Logan Paul demonstrated wonderful ring craft, whilst The Miz, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio all played their part. The Miz delivering a Skull Crushing Finale to his partner at the end provided an interesting twist too.

7. Sami Zayn vs Johnny Knoxville

Winner: Johnny Knoxville

You could summarise this match in two words: pure carnage. A large array of weapons were on show, and a cameo appearance from Chris Pontinus was simply the icing on the cake.

6. Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey - Smackdown women’s ttle match

Winner: Charlotte Flair

We’ve come to expect exceptional performances from Charlotte Flair, and she did not disappoint on this occasion. A deserved win against a credible opponent.

5. RK Bro vs The Street Profits vs Alpha Academy- RAW tag team titles match

Winner(s): RK Bro

A brilliant Sunday night opener, this was a fun watch and RK Bro’s chemistry seems to be growing week on week. Impressive appearance at the end from Olympian Gabe Steveson too - who recently signed with the WWE.

4. AJ Styles vs Edge

Winner: Edge

An interference from Damien Priest saw the Rated-R-Superstar defeat the phenomenal AJ Styles. From a technical standpoint, this was an enthralling matchup between two experienced campaigners.

3. Kevin Owens vs Stone Cold Steve Austin

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin

A pulsating match between Texas’ own Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kevin Owens. For a man past his physical peak, Stone Cold put on a hell of a show and dovetailed nicely with Owens. This matchup was more than worthy of its build up.

2. Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes

Winner: Cody Rhodes

The return of the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes received the biggest reaction of the weekend. When you pit two outstanding athletes such as Rhodes and Seth Rollins together, nine times out of 10 you’re going to get a masterpiece - this was awesome.

1. Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair- RAW women’s title match

Winner: Bianca Belair

This might be one of the greatest women’s matches in WrestleMania history, yes, it was that good. Both women wrestled their hearts out and thoroughly entertained a capacity crowd. Near-falls, finishing moves, tremendous spots- this match had it all. An absolute must watch if you’re a wrestling purist or a casual.
