Valtteri Bottas says that he is looking forward to racing in Australia this weekend and that Alfa Romeo are aiming for points once again.

The Aussie GP is back for another year after 2020 and 2021's editions were cancelled thanks to the pandemic, and drivers and fans alike are excited to see F1 cars blasting around Albert Park once more.

It's a track and place that Valtteri Bottas likes, too, with him winning before Down Under and also spending plenty of time in the country with his partner, who comes from Oz.

That said, then, he's eager to get going this weekend and has said that Alfa are once again looking for a points-paying finish:

“I love coming to Australia: I have been spending quite a bit of time here lately, most recently over the winter break, as my partner is from South Australia, and it’s one of my favourite places, with so many things to see and do.

"For this and many other reasons, I am happy we get to race in Melbourne again: Albert Park is a very interesting circuit and the work done ahead of this year’s race, as well as the new-gen cars, should make the racing a lot more exciting.

"We are keen to show our pace here as we know we can fight most cars on the grid: we are confident we can bring home points but it’s important we do our job properly as we have seen how competitive the whole grid is.”

Alfa have been strong this season and should rightly be looking at top 10 finishes for both cars this weekend.

It's nice to see Bottas looking so motivated and positive as well, and he'll be hoping to pick up more points in Australia as the sport races there for the first time since 2019.
