Naby Keita put in a brilliant performance for Liverpool yesterday in their Champions League quarter-final against Benfica.

Keita contributed the assist for Luis Diaz's 87th-minute strike, as the Reds ran out 3-1 winners over the Portuguese outfit.

Now, with the second leg due to take place next Wednesday, Liverpool are more than likely heading to their third Champions League semi-final in five years.

As noted, Keita was brilliant last night, starring in midfield alongside Thiago and Fabinho, and was arguably Liverpool's best player.

The 27-year-old was solid defensively, providing support to the backline, but was also brilliant in attack, helping to create several chances for his teammates.

The two-minute compilation of Keita's performance, which was posted onto Twitter by user @compsvideos1, highlights just how good his game was.

Keita completed 72 of his attempted 78 passes, even creating two big chances for his teammates.

Arriving into the box from midfield, the Guinean took four shots, one of which was on target, as he looked to score in the Champions League for the second time this season.

While he may not have contributed a goal, Keita did provide an assist as noted earlier, and really put in a complete midfield performance for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The German was clearly impressed by his number 8's showing, giving him a big hug as he made way for James Milner in the 88th minute last night.

Reaction to Keita's showing, particularly from Liverpool fans, has unsurprisingly been incredibly positive, as can be seen below.

It's strange to say, considering he's won both the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool, but Keita's time at the club hasn't been a raging success.

Since moving to the Premier League from RB Leipzig in 2018, Keita has struggling massively with injuries, but when he's been fit, he's more often than not been a valuable member of Klopp's team, as was the case last night.
