After beating his bitter rival Eddie Hall in a boxing match last month, Hafthor Bjornsson has credited his two-year physique transformation for his decisive win.

Bjornsson is keen on going another 12 rounds in the squared circle after his positive transformation and he's already considering his future.

The Game of Thrones star lost nine stone in the lead up to his grudge match, which was billed as The Heaviest Boxing Match In History.

After suffering early adversity in the fight, having a standing eight count, Thor upped his output as the fight progressed to score two knockdowns of his own and put the result beyond any doubt.

Thor was very positive upon reflecting on his performance, seeing another potential bout in the future.

Speaking to The Sun, the Icelandic said: "Just look at the transformation I made in that two-year period, I literally changed myself.

“I don’t think there’s a lot of athletes that have done that; being the best at something and then starting a new sport and becoming somewhat decent.

“I think I could honestly fight 12 rounds. I felt comfortable after six rounds, I was like, ok, my gas tank is not nearly gone here.

“The only reason I didn’t put more into those rounds were because I had to be careful of his bombs.”

As well as his nine stone loss, Thor credited his game plan and lead up to the fight.

With coach Billy Nelson in his corner, he made sure all threats were neutralised for the fight.

On preparations for the fight, there was uncertainty with how opponent Eddie Hall was going to come out.

“I honestly prepared for the unknown, because I didn’t know how he was going to come out.

“Basically, we were in camp training for the unknown so I actually had some sparring sessions with a southpaw guy just in case.

“And when sparring, I wanted my sparring partners to throw wild hooks because we were expecting that, and it came.

“He did throw the wild hooks but I expected him to have something else in his game plan as well.”

Thor was confident his jab did the job during the fight, frustrating Hall when attempting to get inside to score points, essentially wearing him out to grab the victory.

An optimistic Thor is now hoping to get back in the ring for summer, while Hall is calling for a rematch with his rival.
