Manchester United including Marcus Rashford in a potential deal for Harry Kane could be a proposition that interests Tottenham, claims journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Kane continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, while Rashford is currently thought to be unhappy there.

What is the latest news involving Kane and Rashford?

According to The Telegraph, United have their eyes on Kane and his England team-mate Declan Rice ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is closing in on the United job, and the same outlet claims that the Red Devils are ready to back him in the market.

The arrival of any new forward could put more doubt on Rashford's future, with the 24-year-old having grown disillusioned with life at Old Trafford this season.

Last month, The Guardian reported that Rashford was giving serious consideration to asking for a move away from his boyhood club after falling out of favour under Ralf Rangnick.

What has O'Rourke said about Rashford and Kane?

O'Rourke thinks Rashford being offered in a deal for Kane could interest Tottenham if their talisman is hell-bent on leaving north London this summer.

When asked about the possibility of such a deal taking place, the transfer insider told GIVEMESPORT: "Maybe the potential availability of Marcus Rashford could be interesting to Tottenham because he hasn't really figured much for Manchester United, especially in the second half of the season, and is meant to be unhappy at Old Trafford."

Would Rashford be a good signing for Tottenham?

It is going to be almost impossible to replace a No.9 of Kane's calibre. Therefore, Spurs have to do all they can to keep him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the 2022/23 campaign and beyond.

However, if that is not possible, Rashford by no means would be the worst replacement. He has obviously had his struggles this term, but the £63m-rated England international netting 93 goals for United by the age of 24 is an impressive feat.

Some of those goals have come against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, so he is a forward that can do it in the big games.

Rashford can, of course, also play out wide and has the kind of pace that can leave defenders for dead. Alongside Son Heung-min, the United man could be absolutely devastating for Antonio Conte's side on the counter-attack.

All in all, it could be something worth exploring should Daniel Levy give Kane the green light to leave the Premier League outfit this summer.
