Loris Karius will always be remembered as the Liverpool goalkeeper that gifted the Champions League to Real Madrid in 2018.

The German goalkeeper made two disastrous mistakes in the final, which allowed Karim Benzema and Gareth to score.

Real went on to beat Liverpool 3-1 to lift their 13th Champions League title.

Karius lost his place as Liverpool's number one that summer as the club bought Alisson Becker in a mega-money move.

He was subsequently shipped out on a two-year loan to Besiktas.

Now 28, Karius is still a Liverpool player. He's no where near the first-team, though, and is currently behind Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian in the pecking order.

Karius hasn't played a match since February 2021 when he represented Union Berlin.

But it appears Karius has been putting in a lot of work in the gym during his time away.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram to post an image of himself on Thursday evening. And Karius has clearly put on a lot of muscle in recent times. View the image below...

Fair play to Karius. He has clearly been spending a lot of time working on his physique during his time away from the field.

To show just how much muscle he's put on, this is an image of Karius during THAT game in 2018...

Karius's contract at Liverpool is set to run out in the summer, putting an end to his five-year spell at the club.

The German has made 49 appearances for the club and, barring an incredible turn of events, has played his last in a red shirt.

Karius has gone through so much in his football career.
