Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and rapper Lil Wayne is a link-up we never, ever expected to see.

But in 2014, the two got together for an episode of Wayne’s ‘Weezy Wednesday’ series.

The 3-minute video was posted eight years ago and it features Ronaldo and Wayne hanging out.

At the time, there were rumours that Wayne was going to launch a sports management company and sign Ronaldo to it.

TMZ reported that Wayne was going to make Ronaldo his number one client and handle all of his sports management affairs in the United States, including branding, marketing, endorsement deals and modelling.

“Our sources tell us ... Weezy has been wanting to get into the sports management game for a while and has had his sights set on the Team Portugal stud ... not just because he's a huge sports star, but because they're friends,” they claimed.

However, Ronaldo took to Twitter days later to quash the report.

“There have been news about changes on my management team - it's all false, and I can assure the team is - and will be - the same,” the Portuguese star, a Real Madrid player at the time, wrote.

So it’s not entirely clear what Ronaldo and Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., were doing together. But we’re here for it.

In the ‘Weezy Wednesday’ video, Ronaldo laughs along with Wayne as they discuss what they’ve been up to.

It’s all rather odd, and fans in the comments section noted that Ronaldo didn’t look entirely comfortable.

Some of the comments are so good.

“This is the most random moment in history lmao,” one viewer wrote.

Another said: “Cristiano’s tactic is to laugh whenever they laugh.”

A third joked: “Ronaldo’s like I’ll just laugh when they do and it will be fine.”
