Declan Rice is one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League, there's no disputing that.

Most fans would agree that, probably since the beginning of last season, Rice has been one of the most consistent players in all of Europe.

However, Jack Wilshere has seemingly suggested that Rice doesn't get quite enough recognition.

Rice captained West Ham yesterday as the London outfit drew 1-1 with Lyon in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

During the game, Wilshere was full of praise for the 23-year-old, tweeting there's no one better in the world right now, and no one that can do what he can.

Fabinho is a player that is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and a fan asked Wilshere if he thought Rice was better than Fabinho.

And Jack said he does, stating that there is nothing that Fabinho can do that West Ham's vice-captain can't, noting that "Dec" has more presence than Liverpool's number three.

Declan Rice

That clearly wasn't enough for Jack, with the former Arsenal midfielder even tweeting that the only person who comes close to Declan was Sergio Busquets from three/four years ago.

Even with the Busquests comparison, Wilshere suggested that things were a lot easier for him considering his Barcelona side "dominated possession in every game".

Jack went on to say that Declan's job was "harder" in the current West Ham team, saying that he feels that Rice could "play in any team in Europe".

Wilshere ended his tweet by saying that he hopes Rice ends up at Arsenal, which to be fair, would be an incredible signing for them.

If he is to leave the Olympic Stadium this summer, it would have to be for a huge fee, as David Moyes has suggested that Rice will only leave for a fee of more than £150m.
